Behind DOBOX Asia

Two sisters.
One shared passion.
One shared journey.

We are Divine and Océane, twin sisters. We grew up together, shared the same passions, and started this journey together.

We do not claim to know everything about Asia. We are simply two sisters who deeply love these cultures and wanted to explore them and share them differently.

It started like it does for many people

Passions that grew with us.

Like many people, we discovered Japan through anime and manga. Later, China came into our lives through dramas and songs, and Korea followed near the end of middle school.

We grew up alongside these cultures. We learned languages. We cooked. We researched. We wanted to understand the “why” and the “how” behind things, and to exchange with native speakers instead of staying on the surface.

But something was missing

We wanted to go further.

We did not have the means to travel, so we looked for other options: apps, boxes, events… Over time, we realised that many of them kept circling around the same things.

Events were often very consumption-oriented. And simply looking at photos or scrolling through videos no longer felt like enough.

ExperienceUnderstandFeel

So we decided to create DOBOX Asia. Not to present ourselves as “experts” on Asia, but to give people who love these cultures, yet cannot always travel, another way to discover them.

Two perspectives, one desire

Two ways of seeing.
One way of moving forward.

DOBOX Asia carries both of our sensibilities. Not two résumés side by side, but two perspectives that complement one another and shape the project.

Divine

Divine loves understanding what hides behind everyday gestures: an expression, a way of eating, a habit. Languages, food and series are doors into the details that make a culture feel alive.

Languages she explores English · Chinese · Korean

“I love understanding the details that make a culture feel alive. That is where I find what matters most.”
Océane

Océane is drawn to what is felt: an atmosphere, a piece of music, a gesture, a detail that stays with you. Reading, languages and stories make her want to go deeper into a culture rather than simply look at it.

Languages she explores English · Japanese · Korean

“I love when a culture is not only explained, but felt. That is how I feel connected.”
Why DOBOX Asia?

More than a project,
a desire to share.

We did not want to create just another product around Asia. We wanted to create something that makes people want to exchange, observe, understand and participate.

Something that helps people discover a culture without reducing it to clichés or a collection of things to consume.

We are not saying that we are more legitimate than anyone else. We simply have a lot of love and respect for these cultures, and we wanted to share them differently.

Our conclusion

Because travelling is not only about changing countries.
It is also about changing the way you see.

Don’t just look at Asia.
Live it.
